Mandalas
These are my Mandalas. Mandalas are ritual and spiritual symbols used in Buddhism and Hinduism representing the Universe. Amazing artists from all over the world create unique symbols, and their art has inspired me to create my own.
Watercolor
Just recently began experimenting with watercolor after seeing many pieces of art everywhere. I love the way the water dilutes the color, giving it a transparent color. I certainly enjoy painting with watercolor, and I'm sure everyone else might, too.
Cosplay
Cosplay* is something I find awesome and fun to do. Whether you buy your costumes or make them, it's all the same. Cosplaying is one of my favorite hobbies and when I do cosplay, I love to include everyone.
*Cosplay: (n.) portmanteau for "costume play"
*Cosplay: (n.) portmanteau for "costume play"
Sketching
I love to doodle all the time. Sometimes, they're little pictures of things I like, and other times, they're pictures I put lots of effort in because the things I draw have personal meaning to them.
Coloring
Color, in my truly sincere opinion, is what brings the broad meaning to life. Although I rarely color in my free time, I still enjoy it very much.
Dance
I participated in a cultural dance at our school's Christmas Concert.
Short Stories
I like to let my imagination run wild, and writing short stories and fan fiction let me do so. Below are some of the stories I've written:
Super Mishi (5th Grade)
|
“Ha ha ha. Very funny. Give me back my pillow.” Mushi said. “No!” Moshi said. “Why should I?” Mushi and Moshi have never gotten along and most likely never will. Why? Because they both wanted to become the best super hero just like their sensei, Mishiko. “SENSEI MISHIKO!!!!! Moshi won’t give me back my pillow!” Sensei replied, “Sometimes it feels like the whole world is conspiring to destroy my house....”
“WAIT A SECOND!!! Why don’t we start from the beginning.”Moshi said. “Yeah. Let’s start over.”Mushi replied. “FINALLY!”is all Sensei said. --- “Awwwww.... Isn’t he just cute?”Mrs. Ichigaru asked. “Why yes he is. He’s quite the adorable.”Mr. Ichigaru said. “I think I’ll name him Mishiko.” Mr. and Mrs. Ichigaru are both giant, mutant cats from Japan. They both have really big families and their parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and so on said that they will never be able to get married. But guess what. They got married. Now this is the funny part. Whenever the mutant cat families get together and go on swimming parties at the lake, they turn into humans. This only happens when they touch the water though. Even when they try not to, they always get lake water on themselves anyway somehow. “Well. I guess that would be a good name. I think we should start planning a 1st birthday for our new baby boy. You know what. We should call him Mishi for short.” Mrs. Ichigaru said, “Sure.” When the new baby left the hospital with its mother, Mishi started to change colors. First he was orange, then purple, then green, then blue, and last red. “AHHHHHHH!!!!! What’s happening to my baby!” Mrs. Ichigaru screamed when she walked out of the building. “BOB!!!!” When Mr. Ichigaru ran towards his wife, doctors and nurses came running toward the screaming cat woman. “What happened? Is the baby okay? Did it die? Mrs. Ichigaru, let us take the baby back inside to make sure it’s all right.” These are the only things that were heard from the crowd. “Momoka! Where are you!” Mr. Ichigaru yelled while he was pushing his way through the crowd. He literally screamed it though. “I’m over here!” she replied. Then, she waved her free arm frantically in the air, almost whipping everyone around her in the face. When Mr. Ichigaru got to Momoka, the baby was grey. Then, it started to glow and float away from them. “Grab my babyyyyyy! It’s flying awaaaaaay!” Momoka screamed. “Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilll!!!!!” Everyone was screaming, running, and jumping by then. The baby was now 25 ft. above the ground when it changed its form from a kitten to a...well it seemed like a 12 year old boy that just came out of the shower. Then he started to talk. He said no one should be scared and that it was his destiny to be different from other humans and mutant cats on earth. As he said this, he disappeared into the clouds and sun. “Owww.....where am I?” the creature said. “Whoooaaa.... This place is awsome! I think I’m in a crystal cave... Cool! My voice echos!” As the so called “creature” was exploring the place he ended up transporting to, a mysterious fog started to creep up the walls of the cave as another mysterious creature started to appear. “My, my. What have we here?” a chilling voice asked. “An old friend of mine I see. It’s so nice to see each other again don’t you agree?” The mysterious creature crept out from under the fog after a creepy moment of still silence. “Kraehe?! Is it really you?” The creature’s name was Kraehe and it was a lady. “Of course Mishiko. Come with me to my home and I’ll give you clothes and something to eat.” Mishiko was silent for a moment and then said, “O.K.” At the cottage in the back of the mountain cave, Kraehe fed and clothed Mishiko. “This is very nice of you, Kraehe.” Mishiko said. “Oh don’t be silly. This is my job. By the way, you can call me Rue.” she replied. “O.K. How’s school? I haven’t been to school yet.” Mishiko asked. “Of course you haven’t. You were just born. It’s perfectly fine, right now.” Rue said. “Would you like seconds?” Mishiko said, “Sure.” While Rue was pouring the soup and ginger ale, the phone rang. “Can you get that for me? It might be my father or your godmother.” “O.K.” Mishiko picked up the receiver and said, “Sohma residence. Mishiko speaking.” There was a man on the line and he asked for Kraehe Sohma. Mishiko put his hand on the phone. “Rue. I think It’s your dad.” Mishiko gave the phone to Rue, who took the phone and ran to her room with a frightened look on her face in which Mishi had never seen before. While Rue was in the room, Mishiko had a flashback to see how he actually knew it was Kraehe. *Yawn. I’m so tired.” the not fully formed baby Mishi said. “Don’t be tired. I’ll give you the strength to live, for, I need your help when you are born.” Kraehe said in a dreamy voice. “I do not want you to die because you are developing differently than other babies.” Mishi said, “O.K.” “Mishiko. Mishiko..........Mishiko... Mishi!” Rue yelled. “Wake up!” |
Lake of One Thousand Dreams

#1 Karina A.
05.13.12 6West The water of the lake is glowing like the millions of beaming stars in the pitch black sky. The ancient weeping willow, erect at the center of the lake, swayed in the gentle breeze. Haunting chimes ring as the long night drags through the deep valley. The queen of the under-earth rides along the lakeshore on a pure white horse. Mystica, the lake fairy, flies just above the surface of the water. Her purple wings fluttered delicately, leaving a trail of sparkling powder behind her. “Queen Mae, the grass is sleeping, the wind is now still. Is it time?” Mystica inquired. Blood red clouds seeped out from under the queen’s sleeves. “The time is now, we must act in the time between the end of the night and the dawn of the new day. Draw your sword and cut a branch from Our Mother’s sacred tree. Dip it in the lake water and sprinkle the finest dust over it. When you are finished, bring it to me. All of this must be done before midnight.” Queen Mae instructed. “My duty is your command.” Mystica answered, and she was off. She flew to the center of the lake and landed at the roots of The Mother’s tree. She trimmed a thin branch that was bent and twisted in a unique way. “This must be the branch Queen Mae asked for.” she thought. Mystica swept down to the edge of the tiny island the tree rested on. She dipped the branch in the water just as the fog settled in. Mystica thought about where she could find the finest dust. “There should be the finest dust at The Old Clock. I could ask one of the four wise owls to sell me a jar of their finest dust.” she prayed. She stood at the trunk of the tree, kissed it, and set off for The Old Clock. As she passed the Black Mountain, she saw a figure dancing in the midst of the shadows. It sang a lullaby. “Down by the lake, where the little girl sleeps Her mother sits down, praying as she weeps No more trouble, no more trouble Rest my love, for your journey in the rubble The fire burns bright The birds take flight As the dead world ends Her mother ascends Down by the lake, where the little girl sleeps Her mother sits down, praying as she weeps No more trouble, no more trouble Rest my love, for your journey in the rubble As the wet rains fall The ravens and crows call The rivers are still The black night will kill Down by the lake, where the little girl sleeps Her mother sits down, praying as she weeps No more trouble, no more trouble Rest my love, for your journey in the rubble.” The odd figure slips away into the black of the night, but it leaves a strange image on the ground near the place that it danced. Shadows floated around the image and an eerie light surrounded each of them. Mystica sent a message to the queen, a warning, through telepathy, telling her to watch for these strange figures. She reached her destination at The Old Clock. “Hello,” Mystica, “Wise Owls? Are you there?” “Over here, in the back room.” an old croaky voice stammered. Mystica walked to the door leading to the back room and turned the knob. She found the eldest owl perched on a stool. “How may I help you,” asked the owl. “Do you happen to have a jar of the finest dust? I need it for a ceremony.” Mystica replied. “Yes, and you happen to be the first to ask for a jar as well. What is the ceremony for?” the old owl asked as he handed a jar of the finest dust to Mystica. “I wish I could tell you, but it’s classified information.” Mystica declared. “Oh, well that’s all right. Best be on your way, I have visitors coming soon. As a matter of fact, they must be here at this very moment.” She felt a faint chill. The room appeared to get darker and the windows turned a pale shade of blue. “I’ll be leaving now.” Mystica muttered as she saw the dark shadows appear beside the owl. As she left, she felt eyes watching her. A voice behind her said something, but it was muffled and she couldn’t make it out. She started to walk faster, then broke into a full speed sprint. Something was chasing her. She dared not turn around, for fear she would be slowed down and it would catch her. She took flight and went as fast as she could. As soon as she was a safe distance from The Old Clock, she turned to see if there was anyone behind her. Mystica took a sigh of relief, there was no one. She opened the jar and grabbed a handful of fine dust. As she flew over the mountains, she sprinkled the dust lightly over the branch. When she landed in front of the queen’s castle, a guard brought her into the queen’s chambers immediately. There lay Queen Mae on the maroon bed, as frail as a damaged feather. “Mystica, I need you to repeat after me. Do not ask questions, just do as I say.” the queen commanded. “Power of the Mother, bring me life.” “Power of the Mother, bring me life.” Mystica repeated. “The land has chosen me to fulfill its destiny.” “The land has chosen me to fulfill its destiny.” Mystica recognized as the crowning of the heir to the throne. “Why me? Why has Queen Mae chosen me from the rest?” Mystica wondered. “I will do my duty as a lake fairy to protect the valley and Our Mother’s sacred tree. My job is to become the new queen.” “I will do my duty as a lake fairy to protect the valley and Our Mother’s sacred tree. My job is to become the new queen.” Queen Mae lifted a hand from her side. “Come closer, child.” Mystica walked to her side. Queen Mae touched her cheek. Her hand was as soft as the velvet of her bed covers. “You are now queen of this land.” With that said, the frail queen, withered from her years of rule, closed her eyes, never to be opened again. When the Mae died, Mystica was blinded. She heard voices that told her she would die. All of her body warmth was seeping from her body. She was as cold as the ice capped Back Mountains. Laughing Too Much

Quick Write
Yesterday, volleyball practice, I went to go change my clothes. When I was in the bathroom, I had already changed my shirt and pants into another shirt and some shorts when I realized that I had lost my shoe. I put my school shoes on and and put the remaining shoe into my backpack. I went outside and told Haley that I lost my shoe and she giggled because I was freaking out a little only because they were my only volleyball/basketball shoes. Then she said she went through my backpack, took it out and threw it under the table. She also said that she was thinking about taking my shorts instead, but she changed her mind. I replied, “If you did, I might have walked out of the bathroom with no shorts on!” Then we started started cracking up and I almost peed in my pants because we were laughing so hard. I hit Haley with my backpack and we started laughing again. Then we had to leave for the gym to stretch and do wall-sits before practice. When we got there, the coaches gave the wall-sits we do every practice the nickname “Raegan!” |

DIY
Below are a some projects I decided to do tutorials on.
Arizona Tea Camera
!!!!Warning!!!! You will be dealing with very sharp metal, tacks, scissors, and hot glue. Caution is advised.
Materials -1 ruler -1 pair of scissors -Tape -1 hot glue gun and glue sticks -1 tack -1 marker -2 Arizonas -Disinfectant wipes (optional) Step 1: Drink your Arizona! c: Then wash out your can. (which may also be done later on into the project) Step 2: Poke multiple holes in a line into the upper end of the can with your tack. Use your scissors and wiggle them into the holes you've created. Step 3: Cut off the top of the can. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the bottom of the can. Step 4: Cut the can down the middle, straight through the nutrition facts. If you haven't already washed out the can, wipe off the inside with your disinfectant wipes to clean off any left over residue. Don't dispose of the wipe(s) just yet! They will be used again before the end of the project. Step 5: Measure two 3 in. x 5 in. rectangles in the new sheet of metal using your ruler and marker. Then, cut out the two rectangles. Step 6: Fold the shorter edges of both rectangles if you wish for a more square camera. This is optional. Step 7: Glue the rectangles together at the edges using your hot glue gun to create the rectangular body of the camera. Step 8: Trace the bottom of your new rectangle onto a left over piece of metal and cut it out. Tape the traced shape onto the rectangle to close off one side. Repeat this step for the other side of the rectangle to create a closed box. Step 9: Clean off the top of the can using your disinfectant wipes. If the top is uneven, you can use your scissors to get rid of pointy edges and anything sticking out. Push in the drinking tab into its original position so it looks unused. Step 10: Glue on the top of the can to the rectangle wherever you wish. Step 11: Remove the tab from your second Arizona can and glue it onto the top of the soon-to-be-camera to create the shutter release. Step 12: Using your scissors and left over metal scraps, cut out a bow shape. Fold the bow at the creases and glue it to the top of the rectangle next to the shutter release. This will be the flash. Step 13: Your camera is now finished! Now you can take cute pictures with it and show it off c: |
